ETHICS CLE OFFERED!*
We all make mistakes. While this is true in theory, it is extraordinarily difficult in practice for us to recognize and acknowledge our lawyering mistakes. In this talk, Dean O’Grady will discuss her recent research, which explores the behavioral principles grounded in social psychology that prevent us from recognizing the mistakes we make. She explores the increasing use of apology in the medical field and suggests that a carefully limited role for apology exists in the practice of law to promote client relations and a work environment that values transparency and eases the psychological burdens that accompany mistake recognition and acknowledgement.
*The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement. This activity may qualify for up to 1.0 hour(s) toward your annual CLE requirement for the State Bar of Arizona, including 1.0 hours of professional responsibility.
In order to receive the pre-paid luncheon price of $20 for members/$30 for non-members/$15 for law students, you MUST pre-pay with your credit card on the website BY THE RSVP DEADLINE. DO NOT MAIL IN CHECKS. If you make a reservation but do not pay on the website with your credit card, you must pay an additional $5 by check or cash at the door ($25 members/$35 non-members/$20 law students). If you cancel after the registration deadline, or do not show up for a luncheon for which you have registered, and you have not paid, you will be billed at the "at the door" price. We pay for the number of meals we guarantee so we must bill you.
