About this event
Andy Silverman is the director of the Civil Rights Restoration Clinic (CRRC) at the James E. Rogers College of Law. Silverman, along with attorney Jonathan Rothschild, started the CRRC in 2006. Silverman joined the faculty of the College of Law in 1970 and is now on emeritus status but still directs the CRRC. The CRRC was the first organization in Arizona dedicated to representing people with criminal convictions in applying to get civil rights restored, convictions set aside, certain marijuana matters expunged, and case records sealed. Silverman has also been involved in representing, through the law school’s Innocence Clinic and the Arizona Justice Project, prison inmates who have viable claims of innocence or a manifest injustice occurred in their cases. He is on a number of Board of Directors including the Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, Arizona Capital Representation Project and the Second Chance Tucson.
