AWLA T-SHIRTS AND TOTES FOR SALE
Women voters turned out in record numbers on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment and elected the first woman Vice President of the United States of America.
AWLA is commemorating the last century of progress with shirts and tote bags designed by ASU WLSA member, Aimee Harvey, featuring:
1920 - 19th Amendment
1924 - Snyder Act, acknowledged Indigenous people as citizens of the United States and gave them the right to vote
1952 - McCarran-Walter Act was passed. This act allowed for Asian people to become American citizens (and thus vote), something which had previously been banned due to laws like the Chinese Exclusion Act and Asian Exclusion Act.
1965 - Voting Rights Act prohibited racial discrimination in voting, thus giving Black American men and women the right to vote
1975 - Voting Rights Act was expanded to provide voting protections to language minorities. This expansion was largely prompted by discrimination faced by Latino Americans, Native Americans, and Asian Americans attempting to vote but being barred from doing so due to a literacy test requirement.
Once you place an order, please email

with your order confirmation so your AWLA Chapter can get fundraising credit.
