ETHICS CLE OFFERED*

Join us for a 1 hour Lunchtime Virtual Ethics CLE Session to learn strategies for how to handle a challenging situation - professionally dealing with an impaired colleague or client.

Discover your ethical obligations along with potential steps to take to address a delicate issue. PLUS, engage in a discussion about the new referral fee rule and participate in an informal on-line poll to see how many participants intend to implement referral fees in their practice.

Jessica Beckwith is a Partner and a Firmwide Assistant General Counsel in the Los Angeles and Phoenix offices of Lewis Brisbois and vice chair of the Public Agency & Municipal Law Practice. Ms. Beckwith’s practice is focused on attorney regulation and ethics as well as public agency and municipal law.

Ms. Beckwith’s experience in attorney regulation and ethics includes advising attorneys and law firms on matters relating to bar charges in Arizona and State Bar complaints in California, as well as fee disputes, disciplinary matters, disqualification issues, bar admissions, and other licensing, ethics, and professional responsibility issues. Ms. Beckwith regularly represents clients from the inquiry stage through trial before the State Bar Court of California. Ms. Beckwith has also been retained as an expert witness in attorney ethics matters. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked for over two years at the State Bar of California, Office of Chief Trial Counsel, as both Deputy and Acting Senior Trial Counsel, representing the State Bar of California and the Committee of Bar Examiners. In that role, she tried a number of cases before the State Bar Court of California. She also managed and directed State Bar investigators in conducting their investigations into disciplinary violations.

*The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement.  This activity may qualify for up to 1.0 hour toward your annual CLE requirement for the State Bar of Arizona, including 1.0 hour of professional responsibility.
