Superior Court Judge Danelle Liwski will bring us up to date about Pima County Superior Court’s STEPS Program, the 2021 winner of the Arizona Supreme Court’s Strategic Agenda Award in the “Promoting Excellence and Innovation” category. STEPS is a pre-charging drug court program aimed at offering participants an opportunity to connect with substance abuse treatment rather than cycling in and out of jail.

The Honorable Danelle B. Liwski is a Pima County Superior Court Judge, appointed to the bench on April 8, 2011. Prior to her judicial appointment, she served as a Hearing Officer at the Pima County Juvenile Court. Judge Liwski earned her Bachelor’s Degree from New Mexico State University in 1987. She completed her JD at the University of Arizona James E Rogers College of Law in 1990. After graduating from law school, she worked as an associate at Richards & Pennington until 1991. She spent the remainder of her attorney career as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Arizona and as a Deputy County Attorney for the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

*The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement.  This activity may qualify for up to 1.0 hour toward your annual CLE requirement for the State Bar of Arizona, including 0.0 hour of professional responsibility.
